Obsidian Halo: A Ritual in Ten Talons

There are sets I make with joy. There are sets I make with fire. And then there are sets like Obsidian Halo—where every stroke feels like a spell, every foil a whisper from something older than memory.

This set began with a question: What does it mean to mark beauty with boundaries?   I didn’t want to cage the color—I wanted to frame it. To honor it. To give it a name and a perimeter, like a sacred space.

Ten long stiletto nails, each one wrapped in a hand-painted black border. Not just a line—a seal. Inside, red and pink metallic transfer foils shimmer like molten silk, catching light and shadow in equal measure. Outside, the black edge holds it all together. Like obsidian rings around a planet. Like ink around a sigil.

I call it Obsidian Halo because it reminds me of protection. Of power. Of the kind of beauty that doesn’t ask permission.

The Process

This set took hours. Not because it was difficult—but because it demanded reverence. Each foil placement was intentional. Each border hand-drawn with a liner brush so fine it felt like I was writing in cursive on glass.

I worked in silence. Then to music. Then back to silence again. Because some sets don’t just want to be made—they want to be heard.

Who It’s For

This set is for the wearer who knows their edges. Who doesn’t fear being “too much.” Who walks into a room and makes the air shift.

It’s for the ones who wield softness like a blade. Who understand that beauty isn’t always gentle—and that’s okay.

Final Thoughts

Obsidian Halo isn’t just a nail set. It’s a boundary spell. A declaration. A reminder that your glow doesn’t need to spill everywhere to be seen—it can be framed, focused, and still set the room on fire.
